ABOUT

Diploma Project
made with Agata Dworaczek

Wayfinding and identification system for Hospice in Oświęcim.
This is a part presenting the logo and pictogram books.
The aim for the project was to create a signage system which is useful for as many people as possible. This includes those users who may be considered handicapped. Visual information gives the place identity and can be attractive. In a place such as a hospice, people often are under stress and may have some disabilities and that makes a clear and friendly signage system indispensable. In addition, it is essential for patients staying in a hospice to get used to the new environment and feel safe and comfortable. As Edo Smitshuijzen wrote in his book ‘Signage Design Manual’,people in severe stress, anger or anxiety lose their normal capabilities to comprehend and to take appropriate navigation decision.
